is there such thing as a free KOOZA?

a few nights ago i was driving to go swimming and i got a call from delta airlines. since i don't have any travel planned it was particularly weird. the man on the phone told me that delta was glad i was such a good customer and that because i had platinum medallion status they were offering me free tickets to cirque du soleil this thursday night. i asked what was the catch, he promised no catch. i was pretty taken off guard. i didn't make any sense. this is the airline who will send my bag around the world but not take me, will strand me in dakar days before christmas etc.

a few days later i got this email...

Dear Ms. Teabelly,

We are delighted you have accepted our invitation to join Delta representatives at a VIP reception followed by Cirque du Soleil’s production of “KOOZA” on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008. As discussed, I will send two (2) tickets via UPS to the address you provided.

The performance will take place under the Grand Chapiteau (the Big Top) at the National Harbor in Washington, D.C., located at 201 Harborview Avenue, National Harbor, MD 20745. Signage will direct you to the VIP parking lot and the entrance to the Tapis Rouge lounge where you will enjoy the pre-show reception, followed by dessert at intermission.

“KOOZA” tells the story of The Innocent, a melancholy loner in search of his place in the world. The two circus traditions of acrobatic performance and the art of clowning come together in a colorful mélange that emphasizes bold slapstick humor. Between strength and fragility, laughter and smiles, turmoil and harmony, “KOOZA” explores themes of fear, identity, recognition and power. The show is set in an electrifying and exotic visual world full of surprises, thrills, chills and audacity.

If you have any questions regarding this event, please do not hesitate to call us toll-free at 1-800-345-6630. For more information, including driving directions, please visit www.cirquedusoleil.com.
